The Texas Cowboy Reunion parade theme for this year is, "You Should've Seen It In Color."
Cheyenne Bereuter, TCR parade chairperson, said the parade is the perfect family friendly event. She went on to say the theme can be interpreted in many ways and that is ok, she wants everyone who plans on participating in the parade to have fun with it. “The whole goal is to remember our past, to remember our grandparents and our western heritage, says Cheyenne” If you have ever gone down the Cowboy Country Museum or pulled out old photos and looked at them with your grandparents or parents, and you get them reminiscing about the early days, that's what we want to see!
"This is my first year to be in charge of the parade, but I know the parade is one of the many things that makes the TCR special," Bereuter said. “I think anyone that comes out will be entertained and it's a great way to kick-off the four days of rodeo fun.” We are planning on adding some things, like having judges visible, and a sound system to announce the parade entries.
The parade will begin at 4 p.m., Wednesday, June 29 and travel around the same route as it has in the past — with this year’s Grand Marshals, Jim and Nancy West, in the lead.
For parade entry information contact Cheyenne Bereuter at 254-913-7374 or stop in and see her at The Stamford Star, 202 E. Hamilton, Stamford. There is no charge to enter the parade and money prizes will be given to the top entries. Entry forms can be printed at tcrrodeo.com or stop by The Stamford Star.
